Planning To Watch Looop Lapeta Online? What You Should Know

Viewers are gearing up to watch Looop Lapeta online, which will have a direct-OTT release in February. Directed by Aakash Bhatia, the film features Taapsee Pannu and Tahir Raj Bhasin in the lead.

The shooting for Looop Lapeta was wrapped up by the crew in February last year and it was scheduled to be released on October 22, 2021 in theatres. However, the film's release got postponed due to the pandemic. In December last year, it was announced that Looop Lapeta will be heading straight to OTT.

Earlier this month, Pannu had shared the OTT release date of the film on social media. "Hey jholer @tahirrajbhasin tu yeh shortcuts ke lapete mein phasna kab band karega ! Can Savi save him this time ? You will know soon. Get ready for Looop Lapeta, A Sony Pictures Films India Feature, and Ellipsis Entertainment Production, directed by Aakash Bhatia, coming on 4th Feb, only on Netflix," she wrote in the caption for her  Instagram post.

In the last two years, numerous films have opted for a direct OTT release due to restrictions on theatres and COVID-19 safety norms. However, makers of films like Bell Bottom, Sooryavanshi and 83 stalled their release throughout the pandemic and waited for cases to subside so that the films could be released in cinema halls. But with the rise in cases of coronavirus due to a highly infective new variant Omicron, many filmmakers are again moving to OTT or stalling releases of their films. So while Looop Lapeta and Gehraiyaan are set to have a direct digital release, the team of Shahid Kapoor's Jersey has postponed its release and is waiting the third wave out.

What is Looop Lapeta about?

Looop Lapeta is the Hindi adaptation of 1998 German film Run Lola Run. Directed by Tom Tykwer, the film featured Franka Pontente as Lola, who must run against time to save the life of her gambling addict boyfriend. However, the film isn't just your ordinary thriller as it has elements of SciFi to it as well. Every time she is unable to save her boyfriend, the clock resets and Lola gets another chance to save him.

In the Hindi adaptation, Pannu plays the role of Savi- Lola's desi version, while Bhasin steps into the role of her boyfriend. The film was shot last year in Goa amidst the pandemic.

Looop Lapeta will be available for streaming on Prime Video from February 4. Anyone with a valid subscription to the OTT platform can view it from the said date.
