Sanjay Singh Bhadli, Nishi Singh's spouse, claimed in an interview with Etimes that the actor had been struggling to even eat for the past two weeks due to a bad throat infection. He revealed that she had stopped eating solid foods and was just consuming liquids. According to him, "The biggest irony is that we just recently celebrated her 50th birthday (September 16). She couldn't speak, yet she seemed extremely happy. She agreed when I asked her to eat her favourite dessert, besan ka laddoo. "

He said that she fought hard to survive, but she died at around 3 o'clock. He added, "She was with me for 32 years, and that hurts the most. She wasn't feeling well, but she was with me. I just have our two children to look at as our family. "
