In an interview, the actor said, "The pay gap is ridiculous. I can stand up to it, but then I don’t get those roles, and I’m okay with that. I can afford to do that. I realised over the past two or three years that I have no right to judge anybody. I’m privileged, so making difficult choices isn’t really f**king difficult.”

Sonam Kapoor has been actively standing up for other issues like ‘awareness of breast cancer’ and ‘LGBT Rights’.

Taapsee Pannu also spoke about the issue

Many actresses have raised the issue of unequal pay in the Bollywood film industry. Recently Taapsee Pannu raised the problem of pay disparity among male and female actors. She said that female actors were labelled as ‘difficult’ if and when they asked for an increase in their pay. On the contrary, she added, if a male actor increases his fees then it is considered a sign of success.

Taapsee Pannu said that women-centric films are made on lower budgets. Moreover, the audience response is also really less. The audience celebrates male actors more than female actresses.
