This season of the popular romantic period drama is going to be based on the second novel by Julia Quinn, The Viscount Who Loved Me.

The show is set to premiere next year. Actor Simone Ashley will be joined by Shelley Conn, previously seen in films like Charlie and The Chocolate Factory (2005), as Lady Mary Sharma and Charithra Chandran, previously seen in Pillow Talk and Alex Rider as Edwina Sharma.
The book centres on the Bridgerton family's pursuit to find a suitable match for the eldest sibling Anthony, who will be played by Jonathan Bailey. The show is a feminist take on Regency-era England romance and the lives of women in London's high society.
With a viewership of 82 million households, it became the most-watched Netflix series. Earlier this year, the makers of Bridgerton had announced Ashley's casting as Kate, who will be paired opposite Bailey's Anthoney. Kate is described as a smart, headstrong woman who is new to London. She doesn't suffer fools, including the likes of Anthony. It is said that Simone Ashley's casting for the part was approved by Quinn herself.

The British actor was recently seen in the role of Olivia, best friend of Ruby Matthews (Mimi Keene) in the popular Netflix show Sex Education. The 26-year-old actor is from Camberley in Surrey. She has been part of shows like The Sister (2020), A Working Mom's Nightmare (2019), and Casualty (2019).
