Shaakuntalam, a mythological drama film originally shot in the Telugu language, is all set to hit the theatres soon. The makers of the film released the motion poster on Friday. The film, which is based on Kalidasa's Sanskrit play 'Abhijnana Shakuntalam', will release in multiple languages as well.
The magnificent poster of the film Shaakuntalam has left the audience captivated and the star cast only makes the mythological drama appealing. The film features actors Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Dev Mohan in lead roles supported by a compelling ensemble cast. Director Gunasekhar has helmed the poetic romance drama, which showcases the glorious Puru Dynasty.

Shaakuntalam release date
The film features Samantha Ruth Prabhu as Shakuntala and Dev Mohan as Dushyant, the king of the Puru Dynasty. Prabhu took to her social media to announce the film's release calling it an epic love story of the ages. The rest of the cast includes actors Dr Mohan Babu, Kabir Bedi, Prakash Raj, Aditi Balan, Ananya Nagalla, Sachin Khedkar Gautami, Madhubala and Jisshu Sengupta in supporting roles.
Another interesting name to the cast lineup is Allu Arha portraying the role of Prince Bharata, Shakuntala's son. Allu Arha is superstar Allu Arjun’s daughter.
Gunasekhar had earlier announced that the promotions will begin shortly for this epic love story set against the backdrop of Kashyapa Kanumalu in Kashmir amidst the Himalayan mountains. It'll be interesting to watch the splendour of King Dushyant’s Puru Dynasty on screen. The poster received massive appreciation in the first few hours of its release, with fans now eagerly waiting for the release. Samantha Ruth Prabhu who has a tremendous fan following pan India is once again ready to amaze the audience with her versatility in this mythological drama.
Dil Raju and production banner Sri Venkateswara Creations also announced the film's release on social media. Raju, in collaboration with Gunaa Teamworks, is the presenter of the film. Produced by Neelima Guna, the ambitious project is written by Gunasekhar. The project, which was first announced by Gunasekhar in 2020, entered its production phase in early 2021. The film is currently in its post-production phase and the promotions before the release will soon begin. Shakuntalam is now all set to release on November 4, 2022.
