Sara Ali Khan birthday: Actor Sara Ali Khan turns 26 today. After her film debut with Kedarnath back in 2018 with late Sushant Singh Rajput, Khan amassed a massive fan following, both due to her acting skills and articulate interviews. She stole hearts immediately when appeared on Karan Johar’s popular talk show Koffee With Karan, accompanied by her father Saif Ali Khan. Fans of the actor adore her for her candid and upbeat interviews, which offer an insight into her upbringing and her journey as self-conscious star kid.

From battling PCOD, to dealing with weight issues and being raised by single parent, Khan has been frank about her life and upbringing in interviews.  On her birthday, let’s look at the times when she managed to win the hearts of one and all with her thought-provoking statements.

1. On how she dealt with PCOD

Khan, who has a strong academic background, has a toned body now, but there was a time when she weighed 96 kgs and suffered from PCOD. In her Koffee With Karan debut, the actor had opened up about living with irregular periods, excessive hair growth, acne and unusual weight gain- all symptoms that pointed to Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome/Disorder.

For me, the most functional way to deal with PCOD is to eat healthy, sleep in a regimented way- try to regularise your body clock and to get in a certain about of work out every day if you can so that your hormone levels remain stable: Sara Ali Khan

Sara, who studied history and political science at Columbia University, said in another interview that PCOD is one of the things that she struggles with to this date, because the only real cure is to have a focused and determined lifestyle change. There is no shortcut to it, Khan stressed.

2. On being brought up by a single mother

Khan’s take on her parents’ broken marriage has been also applauded a lot by her fans. She has previously opened about the inspiration in her life, her mother Amrita Singh. Khan stressed that she was brought up with the ideology of being true to one’s own self. She stated that her single mother advocated being confident and honest about who you are and how it impacted her career in the film industry.

Speaking on her parents’ decision to separate, Khan said, ” I don’t think they were happy together ultimately, so I guess to separate was the best decision to make at the time. ”

3. On being “weird”

On the chat show, she had defined herself as “Imagine Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh have a kid. They’re both weird. We’re all weird.” She lives with her mother and has an access to her father’s life and is often spotted spending time with him, his second wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan and their two kids, Taimur Ali Khan and Jehangir Ali Khan.

4. On being called “Gol”

In a chat show Feet Up With The Stars Season 3, Khan talked about the time when her half-brother, Taimur, had called her “gol”, stating that it was a funny incident, however, his context was not to body shame har, as many people made it out to be.

5. What pride means to her

The actor, in an interaction, talked about how she is more disciplined than children living in families where both parents are together, thereby challenging the stereotypical notions of society. She said she was proud that her parents, though not together anymore, individually have taught her to empower herself.

On the work front, Sara Ali Khan will next be seen in Aanand L Rai’s Atrangi Re, along with Akshay Kumar and Dhanush.
