Samantha Ruth Prabhu To Star Alongside Varun Dhawan In Citadel

Samantha Ruth Prabhu's casting in Citadel has finally been confirmed by the production team. Varun Dhawan and she will appear together onscreen in the drama series.

The actor who is currently waiting for her film, Shaakuntalam, to be released will play one of the main characters in Citadel Universe's Indian adaptation. It will be released on Amazon Prime Video. With a brand-new still of the actor, the producers announced her inclusion today, on February 1.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu Joins Citadel

There have been rumours that she is not a part of Citadel going around for a few weeks. By making the official announcement on February 1, Amazon Prime Video put an end to all those rumours. The OTT platform posted a picture of Prabhu and wrote, "the mission is on. we have started rolling for the Indian installment of Citadel"

Citadel is currently being filmed in Mumbai under the direction of Raj and DK. Following The Family Man 2, Prabhu will work with directors Raj and DK once more. In a statement, she expressed her excitement at joining Citadel and said, "When Prime Video, Raj, and DK approached me about this project, I decided to take it up in a heartbeat! It feels like coming home for me after working with this team on The Family Man."

She continued, "The Citadel universe, the interconnected plotlines between the international productions, and most importantly, the script of the Indian instalment, really excited me. Being a part of the brilliant universe created by the Russo Brothers' AGBO makes me ecstatic. I am eager to team up with Varun on this project for the first time."

While the name of the upcoming Indian Citadel instalment is not yet known, the first series to debut in the Citadel universe will feature David Weil and Stanley Tucci in addition to Richard Madden, Priyanka Chopra Jones, and David Weil.

Priyanka Chopra welcomed Samantha and posted Samantha's first look on her Instagram stories. She wrote, “So excited about the world of Citadel expanding. Cannot wait to share it with u all.”
