Apart from Ranaut in the lead, Thalaivi also features actors Madhoo and Arvind Swami in crucial roles. The pair worked together in the Tamil film Roja in 1992. This Mani Ratnam film was also dubbed and released in Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Marathi. Directed by Vijay, ThalaiviΒ will have a theatrical release on April 23. Apart from Ranaut, Madhoo and Swami, the film also features Bhagyashree and Shamna Kasim (Poorna) in key roles.
