Fondly called ‘Chimpoo,’ Kapoor was a member of the Kapoor film family and the youngest son of legendary actor Raj Kapoor. Upon news of his demise, 'Chimpoo' Kapoor's sisters-in-law Neetu and Babita reached his residence in Chembur. The late actor had a brief marriage to architect Aarti Sabharwal in the 2000s that ended in divorce. There has been no comment from Sabharwal yet.

Raj Kapoor and Krishna Kapoor's family is one of the most prominent in the lineage with five children. The women who joined this family as daughters-in-law had an individuality of their own that only strengthened by association to the biggest film family in Bollywood.

Here's taking a look at these distinguished Kapoor wives:

Rajiv Kapoor, the youngest son, was notably in a two-year relationship followed by a short marriage with architect Aarti Sabharwal from 2001 to 2003. Reports claim Sabharwal, post their divorce, took her profession abroad to Canada. The couple did not have any children.

Neetu Kapoor (nee Singh) was counted among the leading ladies of Bollywood through the peak of her career in the 1970s and 80s. In her career spanning over four decades, she starred in many hit films alongside husband Rishi Kapoor, including Khel Khel Mein, Kabhie Kabhie, and last in Besharam with their son Ranbir Kapoor. Their daughter Riddhima is a jewellery designer. Kapoor often reminisces on social media about her husband and the life they shared before his death.

Babita, the mother of superstars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Karisma Kapoor, had a prolific, albeit short career in Bollywood. Her most memorable works include Dus Lakh, Raaz, and Kismat. Her marriage to the oldest of Raj Kapoor's sons, Randhir Kapoor, allegedly saw certain tensions when the two decided to live separately for many years without divorcing. They have since reunited.
