Prithviraj Sukumaran’s Kuruthi To Hit OTT Platform This Onam

Kuruthi, a Malayalam thriller starring Prithviraj Sukumaran will be released on Amazon Prime Video on August 11. Kuruthi release date 

Kuruthi release date announcement was made by the actor-filmmaker Prithviraj on Wednesday. The film’s poster features the first looks of the cast members which includes Mamukkoya, Roshan Mathew, Shine Tom Chacko and others along with Prithviraj.

The film’s supporting cast includes Srinda, Murali Gopi, Manikanda Rajan, Sagar Surya, Navas Vallikkunnu and Naslen.

The film will be directed by Manu Warrier. Kuruthi will mark the directional debut for Warrier who has earlier worked on two short films and has collaborated with filmmakers such as Owais Hussain and Anurag Kashyap.

Prithviraj’s wife, Supriya Menon has reportedly produced Kuruthi under the banner Prithviraj Productions. The screenplay of the film has been written by Anish Pallyal and the cinematography has been seen by Abhinandhan Ramanujam. Kuruthi’s music has been composed by Jakes Bejoy and the film’s editor is Akhilesh Mohan.

The film was reportedly going to release in theatres in May this year but the release date was pushed due to the second wave of COVID-19. With no word from the Kerala government on the opening of the theatres, the film is going direct for OTT release. This is the second film by Prithviraj to see OTT release after Cold Case.

Speaking about the film, Prithviraj had said, “In a career spanning two decades and more than 100 films, Kuruthi has to be one of the most intense, fast-paced shooting schedules I have ever been a part of.”

Prithviraj has also produced the film under his own banner Prithviraj Productions. His upcoming projects are Brahmin, Bro Daddy ( his directional venture). He will also play a significant role in Bro Daddy with Mohanlal in the lead role.
