Actor Urmila Mahanta is all set to marry her Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) batchmate, R Badree.
She spoke about her relationship with R Badree and said, "It’s been a decade since we know each other. Badree is from South India and the South is very special to me as I started my film career there."
"I am fortunate to receive warm recognition with my very first Tamil film Vazhakku Enn 18/9. And coincidentally now I have found the love of my life in Chennai itself. I feel extremely blessed to find my life partner from among my FTII batchmates."
Urmila Mahanta On Her Relationship with R Badree
She then added that she had met R Badree in 2007 and that both of them strengthened the bond between them. Urmila Mahanta also added that she will be marrying him on April 25 in Chennai. The wedding will be an intimate affair with only close friends and family. It will be a Tamil wedding. R Badree will be seen in his Bollywood debut film 83, the wedding will reportedly take place after the film's release.
Urmila Mahanta to star in two more Bollywood films
Urmila Mahanta will be starring in two Bollywood films. One of which includes a film with actor Manoj Bajpayee which will be helmed by Rensil D’silva. In her second film, she will be playing the lead role.
Who is Urmila Mahanta?
Mahanta was born to Giridhar Mahanta and his wife Ramala Mahanta in Assam and started acting in plays as a young child. She graduated from Dimoria College in Khetri, and subsequently moved to Mumbai and attended the FTII college in Pune.
Mahanta then made her debut in the Tamil film Vazhakku Enn 18/9. She worked for her first Bollywood film Pareshaanpur which was directed by Dilip K. Mukharia. She also started acting in Manjhi: The Mountain Man, Akira, Beyond The Clouds, etc. The actor then subsequently played roles in Ballad of Rustom (Rustom Ki Dastaan), and also in a Bengali film Chirodini Tumi Je Amar 2 and an Assamese film named TRP Aru. Mahanta was last seen in the 2018 film Padman which also starred actors Akshay Kumar and Radhika Apte.
