IllegalSeason 2 is a courtroom drama that follows the life of an idealist lawyer, Niharika Singh as she navigates contentious legal cases, high profile rivalries alongside a complex personal life. The second season of the popular franchise elevates the high stakes showdown between Niharika and her former mentor-turned-adversary Janardhan Jaitley, played by Piyush Misra to the next level.
The gripping mentor-mentee battle intensifies with Niharika taking a big risk in starting her own law firm and Jaitley turns to politics with an intent to be the next Chief Minister of Delhi. The narrative traces their rivalry as well as delves into three complex legal battles that give the audience an insider’s look at the tangled world of complex law, big business, and dirty politics. Through these cases, the showrunners explore the lives of lawyers and their battles in court and in life.
The ">teaser of Illegal Season 2 was launched last week on November 11, in which we see Jaitley threaten Singh with dire consequences as he continues to amass power. However, Singh warns him that an underdog should never be underestimated.
The sequel to Illegal has been directed by Ashwini Chaudhary, while Advaita Kala has been credited for its story and screenplay. While Aparna Nadig has penned dialogues for the series, Salim-Sulaiman have composed the title track.
