Navya Nanda Says Women Prioritise Other Over Themselves, Time to Change That

Navya Nanda in her interview on the women's healthcare rights and periods said that women are sole caregivers in her family. She mentioned that she has seen her mother and grandmother kept the family's health before their own.

Granddaughter of veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan Navya Nanda spoke in an interview focused on the awareness of their healthcare rights among women. Navya Nanda also addressed how patriarchy has influenced how women feel about their own health. Often tending to ignore themselves, Nanda addressed the fact that women do not prioritise their health often.

Navya Nanda said that she wants to address how women view health in general before how women view healthcare rights. Nanda shared the example of the women she has seen in her own family. She also mentioned that women are sole caregivers.

Navya Nanda said, "Women inherently prioritise the health and well being of their family over themselves. I have seen that happen at my own home with my grandmother and my mother. They are the sole caregivers."

Nanda feels that this is the reason why women don't prioritise their own health, mental or physical. She further added that, "That stems from the gender roles we force as a society and that's where the patriarchy and misogyny comes in where men have always been the head of the family and breadwinners, and the woman the caretaker."

What is Aara Healthcare?

Aara Health is a company co-founded by Big B's granddaughter Navya Nanda. The company puts focus on healthcare for women. Navya Nanda is also a feminist and mental health advocate, who also modelled for her mother’s designer label in collaboration with designer Monisha Jaising in the year 2018.

Four young Pragya Saboo, Navya Nanda, Ahilya Mehta, and Mallika Sahney, got together and kicked off their first entrepreneurial journey by founding Mumbai-based healthcare platform Aara Health. The platform aims to get products and services on women's intimate health needs.

A while ago, Navya Nanda started the Project Naveli in order to build gender equality in the country. Naveli is also the middle name of Nanda as she is called Navya Naveli Nanda. Nanda's project focuses on the four major areas-
