Narappa Release Date: Venkatesh Daggubati and Priyamani starrer Narappa will now directly release on an OTT platform, having chosen to forego its theatrical run. In a tweet on Monday, the film’s production house, Suresh Productions announced the OTT release along with a new poster.
The movie will be streaming on Amazon Prime Video from July 20. Today, the makers also dropped the trailer online. The movie was expected to release in the theatres on May 14 but it had to be postponed owing to the sudden upsurge in COVID-19 cases in the country.

Narappa is the Telugu remake of the critically acclaimed Tamil mega-hit movie Asuran which was based on the novel Vekkai by Poomani. Actor Dhanush starred in Asuran for which he also won the National Award in the Best Actor category. Set in the backdrop of a village in Anantapur district, Narappa narrates the story of a regular man who is ready to go to any length and sacrifice everything for his family.
Directed by Sreekanth Addala, Narappa's star cast includes actors like Venkatesh Daggubati, Karthik Ratnam, Priyamani, Rao Ramesh, and Rajeev Kanakala. Priyamani has played the role of Narappa's wife Sundaramma in the movie. The film has been bankrolled by Kalaippuli S Thanu and Suresh Babu Daggubati under Suresh Productions and V Creations banners. The film's music has been composed by Mani Sharma.
In a statement, Suresh Babu said, “It is an extremely stimulating and enriching experience to work with such talented stars and a highly creative crew. The story of Narappa is not only close to my heart but also narrates a social commentary on the system as a whole and this is our attempt to breathe life into this story."
He added that he is honoured to see the team's work premiere on a global platform. Babu is confident that the action-packed film will be appreciated by all.
Venkatesh's fans are highly looking forward to Narappa's release since last year itself when its teaser was released. On the professional front, Venkatesh is currently shooting for F3. Drushyam 2, his next film is expected to release on Disney Plus Hotstar soon.
