Masaba Masaba To Be Back This Year With Season 2? Here's what We Know

Popular mother and daughter duo Neena and Masaba Gupta will be soon back to rule the hearts and minds of the fans of Masaba Masaba, a fiction show based on the lives of an actor mother and an entrepreneur daughter. While most events of the show are fictionalised, they are loosely adapted from real-life incidences, as recounted by Masaba, one of India's most admired fashion designers.

In the show too, Neena Gupta and Masaba Gupta feature as a mother and daughter. While Neena is vying for a comeback in films, Masaba is dealing with a personal crisis, all the while trying to keep her career from derailing.

The show breaks many stereotypes as its leads are both shown to be career-driven and independent, depending mostly on each other than men in their lives.

The first season of the show was released on August 28, 2020. It was written and directed by Sonam Nair and produced by Ashvini Yardi. The show was released on Netflix and has an all-women team leading it up. Masaba Masaba was loved the audience, who not only found the duo's world fascinating but also applauded the refreshing nature of content dealing with fashion and relationships.

Masaba Masaba Season 2 Release Date

The second season of the show too will build from the real experiences of these women. From the topic of ambition to relationship challenges, it will show a parallel story of mother and daughter dealing with what comes their way.

The announcement of a second ">season was done last year on March 3. Neena Gupta shared a photo of herself with Masaba, "We are back to share a little slice of our crazy but fun lives with you. Masaba Masaba Season 2 is streaming soon on @Netflix_in #AbMenuMeinSabNew." One of the writers behind the show is comedian Punya Arora.

Last year, Sonam Nair in an interview with SheThePeople said, "Although we made the show before, it still fits wonderfully into this time," adding, "Because of the gumption that both these women (Neena and Masaba Gupta) have, no matter what is thrown at them, and their ability to stand up again and face it and move on, that is what we want to capture the most in the show. And now that is like the most important thing in all of our lives."

The exact date for the release of Masaba Masaba season 2 hasn't been revealed by its makers as of yet.
