  • Makijany is the daughter of veteran Hindi film actor Mac Mohan, originally Mohan Makijany. Mohan Makijany is best known for his role in the movies like Don, Karz, and Sholay.
  • Manjari had two more siblings Vinata and Vikrant. The film Skater Girl is collectively written by the two sisters Vinati Makijany and Manjari Makijany.
  • Mohan Makijany or Mac Mohan was also the maternal uncle of actor Raveena Tandon which makes her the cousin of Manjari Makijany.
  • Manjari  was one of eight directors selected for the prestigious AFI DWW Program (American Film Institute’s Directing Workshop for Women). She was the second Indian woman to be part of the program since its inception in 1974.
