Koushani Mukherjee has been into headlines recently because of the difference in the political beliefs of hers from her boyfriend, Bonny Sengupta. The couple was divided between the BJP and TMC camps.

What We Need To Know About Mukherjee's Ideology

Tollywood actor Koushani Mukherjee joined the Trinamool Congress (TMC) on January 24. Her candidacy for the TMC's Krishnanagar Uttar seat was declared on March 5. Recently, the actor's boyfriend, Tollywood actor Bonny Sengupta, made his political debut and joined the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP).

The actor claimed that she needs to keep her personal life and her political beliefs apart. According to sources, she claimed that she is not responsible for the difference in the political belief that she and her boyfriend holds.

Mukherjee further said that it doesn't matter to her if Bonny Sengupta is a member of the opposition party. Everyone affiliated with the BJP will be handled fairly. There will be no allowance for Bonny Sengupta. The actor stated that she is a professional person who has a political philosophy and most importantly she's not going to sell it to anyone.

The BJP has released a list of 148 candidates for the West Bengal Assembly elections, which includes several former members of the Trinamool Congress (TMC), including national vice-president Mukul Roy, another MP, and several celebrities. Roy was nominated by the saffron party for the Krishnanagar North Assembly seat, where he will face TMC celebrity candidate Koushani Mukherjee.
