New Thalaivi motion poster: Gearing up for the trailer launch of her upcoming film Thalaivi, lead actor Kangana Ranaut today shared a new motion poster of the film. Thalaivi is a biopic based on late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and actor J Jayalalitha. The film will release on 23 April this year.

Earlier today, Ranaut had shared stills from the film that captured her body transformation to play the role of Jayalalithaa. "One day to go for the trailer launch of #Thalaivi
Gaining 20 kgs and loosing it all back within a span of few months wasn’t the only challenge that I faced while filming this Epic Biopic, wait is getting over just in few hours Jaya will be your forever," she tweeted.
Directed by AL Vijay, the shoot for Thalaivi was completed in 2020. It will also feature southern actor Arvind Swami in the role of actor-politician Maruthur Gopalan Ramachandran, popularly known as MGR.
Ranaut had shared the teaser of the film on Jayalalitha's birth anniversary, February 24, this year. She had also revealed the film's release in this post. Read more on that here.
