2022 was a great year for k-drama fans with shows like Extraordinary Attorney Woo, Twenty Two Twenty Five, Link: Love, Eat, Kill and All Of Us Are Dead. Ranging from different genres to featuring the second leads from other shows as the main lead, the shows provided a lot of excitement and entertainment around the world. Hence, our transition into 2023 will be incomplete without mentioning the new batch of k-dramas ready to be released next year.

This Netflix historical drama will star some very popular actors including Han So-hee, Park Seo-joon and Wi Ha-joon in important roles. The show is set in the backdrop of 1945 Gyeonseong which is plagued by a monstrous creature. A bounty hunter and a wealthy merchant must work together and find missing people to save the city from ruin.

This is an upcoming space drama starring actor Lee Min-ho and Gong Hyo-jin in lead roles. The show features a gynaecologist and obstetrician named Gong Ryong who pays a hefty amount of money for a trip to outer space. There he meets perfectionist astronaut Eve Kim who does not like people making mistakes and the two are attracted to each other.

Actor Bae Suzy will be back with a heart-fluttering romance drama in 2023 starring Yang Se-jong as the male lead. Based on the webtoon The Girl Downstairs, this show will feature the life of an ordinary college student who moves to a share-house near his college and is attracted to the girl who lives downstairs. However, he soon gets to know that she is actually an ex-K-Pop idol.

This is a crime drama starring your favourite actor Ji Chang-wook along with Wi Ha-joon and Im Se-mi in important roles. The show is set in the 80's era and follows the life of husband and wife Park Joon-mo and Yoo Eui-jung who is a police officer and a narcotics officer respectively and come together to bring down an infamous crime boss Jung Gi-cheol while undercover.

The third instalment of this medical drama starring Han Seok-kyu, Ahn Hyo-seop and Lee Sung-kyung will feature the new challenges in the rundown countryside hospital Doldam Hospital. The on-screen couple Cha Eun-jae and Seo Woo-jin will be back to treat the audience with some heart-fluttering romance and intense scenes as they get back to work.

Starring True Beauty's Cha Eun-woo opposite Dali and Cocky Prince's Park Gyu-young, this fantasy romance drama is about the life of a woman Hana whose family has a curse that turns them into a dog after their first kiss. Starring Business Proposal fame actor Ahn Hyo-seop and Vincenzo fame actor Jeon Yeo-been in lead roles, this show tells the story of a girl named Yeon-jun who is grieving the death of her boyfriend. One day, she gets transported back in time to 1998 and finds herself in the body of a high school student. There she meets Si-heon who looks exactly like her boyfriend and she begins to find the truth behind all of this.

Season 1 of this series, titles Soundtrack #1 featured Han So-hee and Park Hyung-sik in lead role of two best friends who start living together to make music which changes the nature of their friendship. Season 2 of the show will feature a new cast and new plot which is not yet revealed by Disney Plus Hotstar. However, the show is expected to feature some popular K-Pop music.

Strong Woman Gang Nam-Soon

The sequel of Strong Woman Do Bong-Soo, the much-loved 2017 show starring Park Bo-young and Park Hyung-sik, will be starring Lee Yoo-mi, Kim Hae-sook, Ong Seong-wu and Kim Jeung-eun in pivotal roles. The story will revolve around Do Bong-soo's cousin Gang Nam-soon who lives with her mother and grandmother and all three of them have superhuman abilities.

Call It Love

Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo fame actor Lee Sung-kyung will be starring opposite actor Kim Young-kwang in this upcoming Disney Plus Hostar show. The story of the show revolved around a woman who comes to know about his cheating father and his mistress. After her father's death, when the mistress mistreats her, she plans to take revenge on her but is stopped when she meets her good-looking son.
