Harnaaz Sandhu Dedicates Her Miss Universe Crown To India

Harnaaz Sandhu, who won the 70th edition of Miss Universe pageant in Israel's Eilat, dedicated her crown to India. She is the first woman to win the title in the past 21 years. Lara Dutta had won the title in 2000.

In her long Instagram post, she wrote, "It has never been my journey, it has been Our journey. I began with baby steps and as I come closer to the end, I wish to thank all my panelists for being an integral part of my learning. I thank my designers for making me shine at the pageant. Thank you for moulding me into the girl you see on stage today." She ended the note with, " India, this one is for you."

Harnaaz Sandhu Crown Victory After 21 years:

The model from Chandigarh also thanked her family members, panelists and designers in separate posts. Sandhu, 21, won the title by defeating South Africa's Lalela Mswane and Paraguay's Nadia Ferreira in the final round of the pageant.

She started her sting in pageantry in 2017 when she participated in Times Fresh Face and won the title. She was 17-years-old and had representated her hometown Chandigarh. She went on to win the LIVA Miss Diva Universe titlte in 2021.

Sandhu has already kickstarted her acting career as she has been featured in some Punjabi films such as Bai Ji Kuttange and Yaara Diyan Poo Baran. The first Indian to win the Miss Universe title, Sushmita Sen praised Sandhu on social media she called her victory a matter of pride for the country.

She wrote, "Thanks for representing India so beautifully!!! May you reign supreme." As per reports, Harnaaz Sandhu is going to move to New York where she will the spokesperson for different causes apart along with Miss Universe Organisation.

Sandhu in her interviews has shared that she is a big fan of actor Priyanka Chopra. After her victory grabbed many headlines, Chopra took to her social media and congratulated Sandhu by sharing a picture of her. She praised Sandhu for bringing the crown back to India after 21 years.
