As the release date for the television series, Halo, gets closer the excitement for the video game adapted series has also increased. Amongst an excellent lineup of actors for the show is Shabana Azmi, who has acted in critically acclaimed cinema-like Fire, Masoom and Godmother, amongst others. The show is based on a popular game series of the same name.

The show is based on the 26th-century conflict between humanity and an alien known as Covenant. It had action, adventure and futuristic vision weaved with personal stories of the characters. The show is developed by Kyle Killen and Steven Kane and will release online on Paramount.

In the show, Azmi will play the character of Admiral Parangosky. Recently, she shared a post on social media about the show and stated that it is her “first colour-blind casting since I started working in the West 34 years ago. What a struggle it’s been for Asian actors.”

The show is based on the popular science fiction video game franchise, which is owned by Xbox Game Studios. The show’s lead character is called Master Chief Petty Officer John-117, who is a genetically engineered super-soldier. He has been created to crush the mutinies amongst the population, who are not appreciative of the human’s rule.

The events in the game begin when the Covenant attacks a human-owned planet called Harvest. Talking about the show to HuffPost, Azmi had said, “My agent in London got in touch with me for this role. Initially, there was a date clash but thankfully things worked out. It’s completely new territory for me as it deals with Artificial Intelligence.”

Halo series release date:

The cast for the show will include–Bokeem Woodbine, Natascha McElhone, Jen Taylor, Pablo Schreiber, Natasha Culzac, Yerin Ha, Charlie Murphy, Danny Sapani, Azmi, amongst others.

The show is scheduled to release on March 24 on Paramount at around 12 AM Pacific Time or 3 AM Eastern Time. The first season will have nine episodes and each episode will be an hour long. Indian audience can stream the show on Voot Select.
