All Details About Ajay Devgn Starrer 'Drishyam 2', Plot And Cast

Drishyam is a follow-sequel to the popular thriller from 2015 by Nishikant Kamat. It is soon to be released in theatres. In February 2021, the Malayalam version of Drishyam 2 with Mohanlal, Meena, Ansiba Hassan, and Esther Anil was released. It was a follow-up to their Jeethu Joseph-directed movie from 2013.

Producer Kumar Mangat's son and National Award winner Abhishek Pathak is directing Drishyam 2. After Nishikant Kamat passed away, he took over as the movie's director.

Drishyam 2 Plot And Cast

This time, Ajay Devgn (Vijay) will be set against Tabbu (IGP Meera Deshmukh, whose son was killed in the earlier part by Vijay). Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Shriya Saran, and Ishita Dutta are reportedly returning to their respective roles from the previous movie, while the entire star cast has not yet been revealed. Ajay Devgn portrays Vijay Salgaonkar, Nandini Salgaonkar is played by Shriya Saran Vijay, and Meera Deshmukh, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), is played by Tabu. Anju Salgaonkar, played by Ishita Dutta, is Vijay's daughter.

In this sequel of the film, Vijay is again entangled in a criminal investigation and stands by his family and tries to protect them.

Ajay Devgn answered a question from Hindustan Times during the Goa trailer release event. He stated, "There were a lot of characters added, and there were a lot of changes made," while describing what is new in Drishyam 2. " You won't see Akshaye's character in the (Malayalam) film or Gaitonde (Kamlesh Sawant). So, many changes have been made, but like Abhishek said, keeping the film's soul intact. So, when you see the film, it will be very fresh for you.”

Following the Malayalam film's popularity, director Jeethu Joseph created a Telugu adaptation, which featured Venkatesh, Meena, Nadhiya, Naresh, and Kruthika in pivotal parts. In November 2021, it was made digitally available on Amazon Prime Video. D Suresh Babu, Antony Perumbavoor, and Rajkumar Sethupathi collaborated in its production.
