Dhanush Starrer Maaran Release Date And Time: Here's Everything You Should Know

Dhanush and Malavika Mohanan starrer film Maaran is all set to release on an OTT platform.

The action-thriller has been much-awaited by the fans. It is the fourth film to release on the OTT platform with South Indian actor Dhanush in it. Actor Malavika Mohanan will play the love interest of the male lead Dhanush in the film. Mohanan has earlier worked in films like Master, Petta and many others as the female lead. In Maaran, Dhanush will be seen playing the role of an investigative journalist who gets in trouble after he targets a politician. Other actors starred along with Mohanan and Dhanush are Smruthi Venkat, Master Mahendran and Samuthrakani.

Dhanush's character publishes an article about a politician and reveals his corrupt ways. That is when the conflict in the film starts. The film has been produced by Sathya Jyoti Films and directed by Karthick Naren. The film's music has been given by GV Prakash Kumar.

Maaran Release Date and Time:

The film will be released on Disney plus Hotstar on March 11 at 5 pm, as per the announcement made by the makers. Earlier it was reported that the film will be released at 12 am.

Considering the fact that theatres have reopened in the country as the pandemic has eased out, fans were expecting Dhanush starrer to release on big screens. However, the makers chose to go the OTT route reportedly for undoubted profitable opening.

Ahead of the film release, Maaran makers have opted some innovative ideas of promoting the film. A Maaran emoji was launched on Twitter which looked just like Dhanush's character from the movie. As per reports, photo booths and movie cut outs were also placed in a Chennai mall to attract the attention of the audience.

The film's trailer was also released in a unique way. It is the first ever Tamil film to use "Twitter Unlock" feature. It gives viewers an exclusive access to the film's trailer and teaser if they respond to the film's call-to-action on Twitter. The trailer was then released on Twitter. Actor Dhanush is also going to be seen in a Hollywood film directed by Russo Brothers titled The Gray Man.
