Today Daljeet Kaur is not with us but left the most memorable films to remember. Kaur played the lead role in superhit Punjabi films such as Putt Jattan De, Mamla Ghalal Hai, Ki Banu Duniya Da, Sarpanch, and Patola. The actor suffered from a prolonged illness. Reportedly, she also stopped working in films after her spouse, Harminder Singh Deol, died in a road accident for some time. 

Kaur is not survived by any children. In the last of her days, she shifted to her brother Harjinder Singh Khanguda in Gurusar Sudhar (Halwara) town of Ludhiana.

Many of her fans and celebrity friends sent last wishes over Instagram. Karamjit Anmol shared a post, he wrote, “Alvida daljit kaur ji waheguru tuhanu apne charna vich niwas bakhshan parivar nu Bhana manan da Bal bakhshan.

Mika Singh remembering her tweeted, "The beautiful Actress, Legend of Punjab #Daljeetkaur has sadly left us with her beautiful memories. May god bless her soul and she rest in eternal peace."

Actor Satish Shah tweeted, "A dear friend and batchmate Daljeet Kaur the punjabi lead girl of yester years passed away on 17th this month. May her soul find eternal peace. FTII 1976 batch."

A fan wrote, "End of an era.....we lost a legend....waheguru."

Another wrote, "Waheguru ji....veer ji aa add karan wale nu block kyu kar dinde tusi ..eh har jga apni tang fasa lende ne."

Daljeet Kaur was very talented, from acting to sports, she excelled at everything. Daljeet Kaur was also a national Kabaddi and hockey player. She acted in over 70 Punjabi films and over 10 Hindi films during her career. She made her acting debut at the Pune Film Institute. Her first film Daaz was released in 1976. After her spouse's death, she returned to the film industry in 2001 and played mother and other roles for her age. One of her films was Singh vs Kaur in which she played Gippy Grewal's mother. She was known as Hema Malini of the Punjabi industry.

Daljit Kaur graduated from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi. Kaur was battling a serious mental illness for the past few years. The last of her years were challenging health wise as she suffered a lot physically and couldn't remember anything about her life. This illness reportedly took her life, and the talented veteran actress died at the age of 69 on Thursday.
