Cold Case Review: The much-awaited Malayalam horror thriller film Cold Case released on Wednesday, June 30. Initially set up for a theatrical release, the film is released on the OTT due to the pandemic and closing of cinema halls and multiplexes.
The film starring Prithviraj Sukumaran is an eerie film that mixes supernatural influence in a natural setting and boats of an impressive supporting cast and a twisted plot full of jump scares.
After the release of the film, the viewers took to social media and shared their thoughts about the highly anticipated horror thriller. Twitter is seen to be divided on Sukumaran’s first digital release. While some of the viewers liked the thrill and twists in the films, others thought that the film ended up way below expectations after promising a lot.
One of the viewers called it a one-time watchable investigation thriller but called the script weak and lagging in parts. They further said that the role was not challenging enough for Sukumaran.
#ColdCase – one time watchable investigation thriller… DOP is very good 👏 Sound track is good… Not a challenging role for Prithviraj… Weak script & lagging in parts… direct OTT release was a good decision from the producer…

While another viewer called the film worth the wait as the suspense wall well maintained and the conclusion was drawn perfectly.
The screenplay is true to its story & my boss @PrithviOfficial had played a very interesting part of the play and like usual smart cop 💯.@AditiBalan very brave in her character and finally worth waiting and the suspense well maintained and conclusions drawn perfectly.#coldcase pic.twitter.com/bgKk2tSKXY

As a lifelong fan of whodunnits & also I'd very high hopes for this film it disappointed me terribly. But It did fare better in the storytelling department, taking an investigative horror approach until it reaches a ridiculous climax that nearly ruins the entire film. #ColdCase pic.twitter.com/6QfvqL69ak
