Everything To Know About Randeep Hooda's CAT

After the blockbuster 2020 film Extraction, the CAT series is Randeep Hooda's second partnership with the Netflix streaming service.

On December 9, Netflix will release the Randeep Hooda-starring revenge drama CAT, the streaming service said on Friday. Balwinder Singh Janjua wrote the 2019 biographical drama Saand Ki Aankh, the 2017 comic drama Mubarakan, and the 2021 Punjabi rom-com Puaada, among other works, developed, wrote, and directed the series. Additionally, he was the director of the upcoming Hindi social comedy Unfair & Lovely.

CAT Plot And Cast

CAT is described as a crime thriller with a Punjabi hinterland setting that tells the tale of an innocent man who gets caught up in a complex drug trafficking plot involving gang leaders, law enforcement, and political figures.

Randeep Hooda, one of Bollywood's promising actors, plays one of the show's most challenging and intriguing characters. He has won praise from critics for a number of films, including Highway, Sarabjit, Sultan,' Sahib, Biwi and Gangsters', and many others.

Talking about the film, Randeep Hooda said in a statement, "Gurnaam Singh is fierce yet calm, he is strong yet fragile and while you will find familiarity with this character, you will not be able to guess his next move. I am thoroughly excited with CAT and that Balli (Balwinder Singh Janjua) has brought authenticity and genuineness to each and every scene."

The show was co-directed by Jimmy Singh, Rupinder Chahal, and Janjua, who has written for movies like Saand Ki Aankh and Mubarakan. Movie Tunnel Productions and Jelly Bean Entertainment collaborate to develop CAT.

On September 24, 2022, Netflix released a one-minute teaser for the first season of CAT. The Punjabi hinterland serves as the setting for this film, which stars Randeep Hooda as a Sikh character with a thick beard and turban.

The teaser portrays him as an innocent man who became a spy for cops after being drawn into a complex drug trafficking plot involving gang leaders, law enforcement, and political figures. CAT possesses all the necessary components to appeal to a global audience.
