Cases against Raj Kundra: Growing up in poverty, Raj Kundra's father worked as a bus conductor in London 45 years ago and his mother made ends meet by working in a factory. His humble background and attitude were something his wife Shilpa Shetty respected, as she is also self-made, revealed an old interview of the businessman from 2013. Today, the Bombay high court will hear the bail petition filed by the businessman in connection with a porn racket which the crime branch of Mumbai Police is investigating.

Meanwhile, Mumbai Police on Tuesday night registered another FIR in the porn racket case in which Kundra is allegedly involved in. Now the total number of FIRs in the matter stands at four. Here's all you need to know about all the cases against the UK-based businessman.

In this new case, a 21-year-old woman has alleged that the accused had forced her to perform “bold scenes” for videosand promised her money. The survivor, who hails from Madhya Pradesh, also claimed that the accused threatened her and she had been forced to feature in videos that were put up on three platforms, namely Hotshots, Gupchup and Neuflicks. The police have registered an FIR against producers from Kundra’s company Ajay Srimant, Abhijeet Harishchandra, Prince Kashyap and actor Gehana Vasisth, who is out on bail in connection to the porn case, among others, as named by the complainant.

As per the police statement, Kundra is the "key conspirator" in the case and they have solid evidence to back their claims. On Wednesday, another FIR has been registered against Kundra in which the name of actor Vasisth has also emerged. The charges of cheating and robbery have also been included in this FIR along with making porn films. This case was registered by the crime branch’s property cell at Malwani police station after a female actor approached the police and alleged she was forced to shoot for a pornographic film for the HotShots app. They alleged that Vasisth, Roma Khan and Tanveer Hashmi forced them to act in porn movies.

This case was handed over to the Property Cell of Mumbai Police Crime Branch, Mumbai Police said on July 29.

The Malwani police had filed FIRs on the basis of complaints received from two women, both in their twenties. Another woman had submitted a complaint at the Lonavla police station, around 120 km from Mumbai. During the investigation, it came to light that these women were being lured by the accused for parts in web series and were later asked to shoot porn scenes instead.

Vasisth, Hashmi and Khan were the first few people to have been arrested by the police in relation to the case in February. A 25-year-old woman stated, in her complaint, that she was asked to go to Madh Island in 2018 for a film titled Single Mother. However, for one scene, she was forced to go nude and was threatened with dire consequences.

The second woman, a 20-year-old was also forced in the same manner. She was reportedly threatened by actor Vasisth saying that Rs 10 lakh was spent on production and she would have to pay the money if she refused to shoot.

Meanwhile, actor Sherlyn Chopra has also accused Kundra of sexual misconduct. An FIR against Raj was registered in April 2021 for sexual assault, based on her complaint. He was charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.

Kundra was arrested on July 19 along with 11 others on charges related to the alleged creation of porn films for mobile apps. He and his associate Ryan Thorpe are currently in judicial custody. Shilpa Shetty's connection with the case is also being probed, Police said.
