Bhumi Pednekar Remembers Her Late Father, Writes An Emotional Note On His Birthday

Bhumi Pednekar wrote, "10 years ago we lost you and yet we feel your presence in everything we do. I see you in samu (her sister Samiksha Pednekar) and I hear you in everything that mom has to say."

Bollywood actor Bhumi Pednekar took to Instagram today to write a note for her late father, Satish Motiram Pednekar.

Pednekar posted a picture of him, and wrote, "10 years ago we lost you and yet we feel your presence in everything we do. I see you in samu (her sister Samiksha Pednekar) and I hear you in everything that mom has to say. I see you when I talk, when I crack a joke or have my few moments of wisdom."

Pednekar's mother Sumitra Pednekar also took to Instagram and shared an emotional post dedicated to her late husband. She shared a picture of herself with him, and captioned it "Love you forever my Satish ❤️ 10 years ago we lost you my love but you are alive in all of us. Om Shanti".

Bhumi Pednekar talks about working '10 times harder' after her father's demise

Bhumi Pednekar had lost her father to cancer ten years ago when she was just 18, and her sister 15. She has opened up about her father's death in the past, and said that she had to work "10 times harder." "I start working, 10 times harder than I would... The two years were a mess but we gathered ourselves really fast. Today when we look back, we wonder how we survived those days, how we got through it, but it happened," Pednekar said.

Since then, the actor has proved her mettle, and a come a long way in her career. She initially worked as an assistant film director, before appearing on the big screen. She made her acting debut with Dum Laga Ke Haishawhich also starred actor Ayushmann Khurana. She later on acted in a number of notable films such as Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha and Pati Patni Aur Woh, Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare, etc.

Pednekar was last seen in Durgamati, a Hindi remake of Anushka Shetty's film Bhaagamathie. Bhumi Pednekar is now shooting for her upcoming film Badhaai Do opposite Rajkummar Rao.
