Bengali actor Parno Mittra will be contesting in the West Bengal elections as her name appeared in the BJP party’s candidate list on Thursday.

Lately, a number of popular Bengali actors joined the party aiming to come to power after the Assembly Elections. Joining the bandwagon, the television actor became the latest addition to the list.

Here are 7 things we know about Bengali actor Parno Mittra:

• Actor Parno Mittra will represent West Bengal‘s Baranagar constituency in the Assembly Elections. 
• Mittra started off her acting career with the Bengali TV series Khela that first aired in 2007.
• She won the Best Actress award for Mohona, a Bengali Tv serial.
• The 34-year-old actor rose to prominence for her role in the 2011 release National Award-winning Bengali film Ranjana Ami Ar Ashbona. 
• She also featured in Kaushik Ganguly's Apur Panchali alongside Parambrata Chattopadhyay. The film was screened at the 44th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in 2013.
• In 2020,  Parno Mittra opened up about her struggles with mental health and suicidal thoughts in a Twitter thread. 
• Currently, the actor features in the small screen project Korapakhi.
