Arrest Swara Bhasker trends on Twitter: Actor Swara Bhasker is never scared of voicing her opinions online. She is in news frequently for speaking her mind, even at the cost of constantly being targeted by the troll brigade. On August 18, 'Arrest Swara Bhasker' started trending on the micro blogging site Twitter, after the actor tweeted on Taliban's capture of Afghanistan, asking everyone to question their understanding of "terror".

The Taliban captured the capital city of Afghanistan- Kabul on August 15, displacing its democratically elected government. The change in power occurred amidst departure of on-ground United States troops. In her tweet, Bhasker tweeted that we cannot be okay with "Hindutva terror" and be shocked and devastated at Taliban terror. "Our humanitarian & ethical values should not be based on identity of the oppressor or oppressed," she added.

Bhasker's tweet led to a massive social media outrage with many from right wing brigade claiming that she had hurt "religious sentiments".  A BJP spokesperson named Gaurav Goel also warned the actor of arrest for her statement, writing, "Section 295 A IPC Whoever hurts religious sentiments shall be punished with imprisonment which may extend to 3 years."

"Arrest the anti nationalist and Hinduphobic Swara Bhaskar," tweeted another user.

"We should not normalise equating terrorism with our Hindu identity especially when there is no iota of truth in it," reasoned one user.

Calling Hindutva the "antidote" to Sharia Laws, another user said that it is only Hindutva that can stop the "Talibanisation" of Hindustan.

When a new agency referred to Bhasker's vibrator scene from the movie Veere Di Wedding in the headline to report on the trend, the actor slammed it. She wrote, "Constantly harassing a woman with vibrator jibes in a derogatory manner obviously referencing sexual activity is Cyber- sexual harassment." She added that the news outlet should not normalise sexual harassment for the sake of a sensational headline.
