Prabhas, Kriti Sanon Starrer "Adipurush" To Release On This Date

 On March 1, the team behind Adipurush, a retelling of Ramayana released a poster of the upcoming film, also sharing its release date. The film is lead by Telugu superstar Prabhas and Kriti Sanon.

Sanon is going to play the role of Sita in this film directed by Om Raut. Adipurush will be a 3D action drama that has its roots in the Ramayana, thus celebrating the victory of good over evil. There have been numerous adaptations of the mythological story in India but Raut got the idea for the film after attending the screening of Japanese filmmaker Yugo Sako's anime version of the epic called The Prince Of Light.

In an interview with Variety, Raut said that he was mesmerised after watching the screening. "This is the way this story has to be told, very condensed...precise, yet you feel for the characters, you are rooting for Prabhu Ram--and at the same time the presentation was so modern and so fresh and very children friendly," he said.

While Prabhas will play the role of Rama, it has also been reported that actor Saif Ali Khan will be playing the antagonist in the film, Ravana. Sunny Singh, best known for his work in the film Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, will be playing the role of Lakshman.

Talking about her first impression of Prabhas, Sanon in an interview said, "When I first met him, I thought he was shy, but once we started chatting, we were unstoppable. He is a foodie, and loves feeding his co-stars." About her role, she said that one needs to keep the body language and dialogue delivery under check when one is playing a character that is not set in today's time.

"With Om, I am in safe hands. I like his clarity on the film, and he is technically sound, This is the first time I am shooting a film that demands such extensive chroma work. It is a pan-India film, so I had to work on my Telugu," she said.

Adipurush Release Date: Check It Out

Today, the cast dropped the release date of the film along with a poster with Adipursh and "Celebrating Victory Of Good Over Evil" written in golden words.

Sanon shared the poster with the caption, "#Adipurush Worldwide Theatrical Release in 3D on 12th Jan 2023."
