Post-US Open WTA Rankings Released, Iga Swiatek World No.1 With Massive Margin

Swiatek sealed the World No.1 spot ahead of the season-ending Grand Slam. She continued her dominant season and set aside Jabeur in straight sets in the final on September 10, Saturday.

The post-US Open WTA Rankings were released. The Iga Swiatek holds World No.1 ranking with a massive gap at the top. Ons Jabeur is back at No 2. Swiatek with 10,365 ranking points holds a 5,275-point lead over Jabeur.

The 28-year-old Jabeur secured her place at the season-ending WTA Finals with her success in New York. Last, American tennis star Serena Williams had a 6,591-point lead during the last week of August 2015. Thereafter, In seven years, it is the most comprehensive margin between No.1 and No.2.

Swiatek sealed the World No.1 spot ahead of the season-ending Grand Slam. She continued her dominant season and set aside Jabeur in straight sets in the final on September 10, Saturday. The 23-year-old also won the French Open, four WTA 1000 events, one WTA 500 tournament, and reached the semi-final of the Australian Open.

Anett Kontaveit from Estonia, Spaniard Paula Badosa, and American Jessica Pegula follow the Jabeur. Pegula is at a career-high No.5 in post-US Open WTA Rankings and stays the American No.1 ahead of Coco Gauff. Coco Gauff also held a spot in the top 10. American teen star player Coco Gauff makes her Top 10 debut this week following her quarterfinal run at the US Open. Coco Gauff is at No.8, up four spots from No.12. Coco Gauff became the youngest player to secure a place in the Top 10 in 16 years.

Daria Kasatkina (No.11) and Garbine Muguruza (No.12) both dropped out of this week’s Top 10. Caroline Garcia took a jump from No.75 to No.10 for the first time since the week of October 1, 2018. Liudmila Samsonova and Zhang Shuai entered the Top 30 club after fourth-round runs at the US Open.

US Open quarterfinalist Ajla Tomljanovic, who defeated Serena Williams in the third round, took No.34, climbing 12 places from No.46, a new career-high. Serena Williams remains on the post-US Open WTA Rankings, climbing 284 places to land at No.321. Last year’s US Open champion Emma Raducanu dropped out of the top 80. Raducanu drops 72 spots, from No.11 to No.83. 2021 US Open finalist Leylah Fernandez drops 26 positions, from No.14 to No.40.
