YouTuber Prajakta Koli became the first United Nations Development Program (UNDP) India Youth Climate Champion under the United Nations Development Programme-India on Friday. Koli will be tasked with interacting with young people in order to raise awareness about the negative effects of climate change, global warming, and biodiversity loss on all segments of society, particularly the poor and marginalised, which are affecting their lives and livelihoods, as well as the economy as a whole.

She'll speak on the importance of collective action by sharing inspiring examples of how governments, communities, and individuals are making concrete efforts to make a difference. According to the G20 People's Climate Vote 2021 Report, about 67 per cent of Indian youth regard climate change as a global issue and are vocal about the urgent need for policy innovation and change.

"I am really humbled and delighted to have been given this rare responsibility to represent a cause that is close to my heart," said Prajakta Koli, who is overjoyed. "As the first UNDP India Youth Climate Champion, I want to create and participate in events that encourage people to talk about climate action and the urgent steps that need to be taken," she added.

"The youth must be the revolution's leading lights and soldiers, working for the common objective of an enriched and empowered future in which the human species is not endangered. We are the ones who caused the problem, but we can also solve it. I will work with UNDP to bring together young people from all over the world to take meaningful climate action," she said.

Young people are leading the charge for a more sustainable world. Prajakta is well-known among millions of young Indians. Her voice, I'm sure, enters the hearts of young people and inspires them to take action.

Prajakta Koli, better known as "Mostlysane" on YouTube, is an Indian YouTuber and actor who specialises in comedic videos. In 2022, she will star in Dharma Productions' forthcoming film, Jug Jugg Jeeyo. Koli also released a short film about female empowerment in rural Haryana called Khayali Pulao in July 2020. In November 2020, she starred in the Netflix series Mismatched.

Koli began her media career as an intern at Mumbai's Fever 104 FM radio station. Koli launched her YouTube channel in February of 2015, and she already has over 6 million subscribers. On her channel, she portrays all of the characters, and she has segments like Swaal Saturday and Real Talk Tuesday where she interacts with her viewers. She is also on Instagram, where she has 4.6 million followers.
