Gal Gadot-starrer ‘Wonder Woman’ is arguably the first woman superhero film that not only has been making waves in the typical male-dominated genre but has also become DC Comics’ most successful film ever.
Warner Bros. movies, which brought alive the DC character, has made a huge box office collection of $334.9 million till now. It was announced as the highest-grossing movie in the DC Extended Universe in the US, reported Entertainment Weekly.
The Patty Jenkins-directed movie in which Gal Gadot, is essaying the lead role, has much more than Batman, Superman or The Joker.
‘Wonder Woman‘ has now left the DCEU’s most iconic films behind in the domestic market. The list includes ‘Man of Steel‘, ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice‘ and ‘Suicide Squad‘.
Gadot — who plays Diana Prince – first debuted in ‘Batman v Superman‘, which earned $330.36 million in the domestic market throughout its theatrical run. But, the Ben Affleck-Henry Cavill-starrer is still the champion in the international box office collection.
Gadot has recently been in news for responding to reports of pay parity due to which she was paid less for playing Wonder Woman than Henry Cavill’s salary for Man of Steel.
“I’m grateful and happy,” she said of the support she has received following the news.
But Wonder Woman is continuing to break records and hopefully will achieve many such milestones in the coming days.
