Women Perform Standup Comedy At Mount Everest, Bag World Record

Guinness World Records (GWR) recently shared a video on YouTube, in which two women comedians went to the Mount Everest base camp to perform a comedy gig.

Guinness World Records (GWR) recently shared a video on YouTube, in which two women comedians went to the Mount Everest base camp to perform a comedy gig. GWR titled the video Performing Comedy on Mount Everest.

GWR captioned the video- Ellie Gibson and Helen Thorn are better known as the comedy duo 'The Scummy Mummies'. They went to Everest Base Camp and performed a 32-minute comedy set to an audience of over 30 (unsuspecting) people.

The video shared is a collage of video clips captured by the comedians and the interview taken by GWR. The video shows their journey in shots, how they started and reached the base came. The video depicts the two women who went to the base camp of Mount Everest to perform a comedy gig. The comedians identified as Ellie Gibson and Helen Thorn are known as the comedy duo The Scummy MummiesGibson and Thorn captured everything they experienced, they shared the emotions when they first decided to do the gig, the excitement level, and nervousness. They documented their journey from visiting Nepal to Mouth Everest Base Camp, they captured locals, animals, bridges, and scenic beauty on their journey. 

Gibson and Thorn's expedition had an important cause attached to it. In the video, the duo shared they are keen on creating the record and raising funds for an organisation that researches the reasons behind premature birth. Gibson also shared her personal story of having a premature baby and how scary it was. Gibson said that In 2014, she gave birth to the baby 9 weeks earlier and it was a scary time.  

Women comedians bag world record 

The duo also showed gratitude towards their audience for watching them in -15 degree temperature, without chairs, for straight 30 minutes. The Guinness World Record awarded them with 'Highest Altitude Stand-up Comedy Gig On Land 5309 m (17417.98 ft)

Since the video was shared, it got 10,000 views, and the numbers are increasing. Viewers also poured in comments
