The service will be expanded to other terminals too with the introduction of new cabs in the coming days. The cabs will be parked in the multilevel car parking area in the surveillance of Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL). A DIAL spokesperson said, "To ensure safety to women flyers, DIAL has initiated the women taxi service in association with Sakha cabs, which provides safe transport solutions for women by women. It has already become quite popular among women who feel vulnerable on city roads." Currently, the cabs will be travelling across all regions in Delhi-NCR. Additionally, they are covering journeys to Agra and Jaipur.

The official also told that the cabs are equipped with a panic button, to ensure that the customer support team reaches the cab at the earliest to provide assistance if required. Some of the cars are equipped with wheelchairs and other facilities for physically-challenged passengers.

The service is a coming-of-age step. It will make women feel more comfortable. A step in a similar direction would be highly appreciated on a national level.
