Woman's Decomposed Body Found In A Drum In Bengaluru Railway Station.

A cleaning staff from the Yesvantpur railway station in Bengaluru found a decomposed body of a woman in a drum on the goods platform.

A cleaning staff from the Yeshwantpur railway station in Bengaluru, found a decomposed body of a woman in a drum on the goods platform while working.

The staff was at platform number 1  this morning and quickly alerted when he found the drum and called the cops posted at the railway station about it, after witnessing a very strong unpleasant smell coming from it.

The plastic drum was a chemical filling blue-coloured drum covered with multicoloured cloth pieces with its lid on top of it. A team of forensic experts were quickly called to the railway station as soon as the body was recovered. According to the reports, the sanitation worker named Jayamma, found the dead body due to the rotten smell coming from it.

The body is said to be wrapped in a plastic covering, with a white cloth piece tied around the neck of the dead body. It is suspected that some chemical was also poured upon the body to speed up the process of decomposition.

The dead body that was found in the drum is said to be of a woman who is suspected to be in her late 20s. The identification of the decomposed body is yet to be done.

As per the reports, the drum was lying on the platform of Yeshwantpur junction railway station which is one of the three important railway stations that serves the city of Bengaluru, for a few days but no one paid any attention to it until the decomposed body started to have a foul smell which got noticed by the worker.

Meanwhile, after the body got recovered a case was filed and the investigation on this case is currently in progress. Kusuma Hariprasad, the Assistant divisional Railway Manager of the South Western Railway has given a statement regarding the case, said, "Cleaning staff at Bengaluru's Yeshwantpur railway station today found a decomposed body inside a box kept on platform no. one of the stations. A team of forensic experts team has reached the railway station, a probe is on for this case".
