Woman Techie Shot Dead In Pune Hotel Room After Fight With Boyfriend

A software engineer working with Infosys was shot dead on Saturday in a hotel on the outskirts of Pune. The boyfriend has been arrested for allegedly murdering the woman. Read on to know more bout the incident. 

As per reports, the deceased has been identified as Vandana Dviwedi. She was in a relationship with Rishabh Nigam. Both originally belonged to Uttar Pradesh. The duo had booked a room in Oyo at Pimpri Chinchwad's Hinjewari area under their names. However, on Saturday, an altercation led to the murder of Vandana. 

How did the police nab the boyfriend? 

 When the Police received the information about the firing, they immediately reached the murder spot. The police found the body of Vandana in the hostel's room with blood stains around her. 

The police checked the CCTV footage of the hotel and found that the boyfriend had exited the room late at night on Saturday. Then the police started scanning vehicles and checkpoints and nabbed the boyfriend. A pistol was recovered from the boyfriend. 

He is now undergoing questioning for more information about the murder. "The hotel room booking was done in the name of Vandana and Rishabh. So he is our prime suspect. Further probe is on," senior police officer Vishal Hire told the media.

A parallel incident 

A similar incident happened a few days ago when a woman techie was brutally murdered by her former classmate who underwent sex-change surgery to marry her on the eve of her birthday. The incident happened in Tamil Nadu where the classmate chained the techie, slashed her with a blade and then burnt her alive.

The woman, who goes by the name R Nandhini, was killed by her former classmate, 26-year-old Vetrimaran, in Thalambur near Kelambakkam in Chennai. Eight months back, Nandhini secured a job in Chennai and started living there with her uncle. Vetrimaran had lured Nandhini by inviting her to a birthday surprise which turned into the most horrifying day of her life. As per police reports, Vetrimaran blindfolded Nandhini and tortured her to death.
