A 30-year-old female architect leapt from a speeding Rapido bike to escape the driver who allegedly sexually harassed her and attempted to transport her to the wrong location.

The woman booked a Rapido bike to Indiranagar on April 21st at 11:10 p.m. Instead of taking her to her destination, the rider, who snatched her phone under the guise of checking the OTP, transported her to Doddaballapura.

The woman spoke with the Deccan Herald and spoke about the harrowing experience. She mentioned that the driver was travelling at 60 kilometres per hour.

The woman took her phone back after seeing he was inebriated, but the male reclaimed it and molested her.

The woman was able to phone a friend for assistance before jumping off the fast bike near the BMS Institute of Technology and Management, hurting herself.

Her companion went from Indiranagar to the JB Nagar police station to notify officials that his close friend was in difficulty, and her phone was switched off. Reportedly, despite his pleas for assistance, the authorities declined to track her down, claiming a "girlfriend and boyfriend problem."

According to a senior police officer, the accused was detained and charged with sexual harassment, abduction, assault, or criminal force against a lady with the goal to offend her modesty and inflicting harm by acts risking the life or personal safety of others.

Recently, a woman took to Twitter to share the creepy and inappropriate messages a Rapido driver had sent to her. She shared screenshots of her WhatsApp chat and revealed that she had contacted the driver to share her location and was then forced to deal with inappropriate messages.

The incident sparked a conversation about the safety of women and others shared their uncomfortable experiences with unwanted contact.
