Haldwani Police has arrested a woman on Wednesday in Nainital for pretending to be a man and marrying twice for dowry, reported The Hindustan Times. Krishna Sen alias Sweety Sen claimed to be a man on a micro-blogging website, Facebook and duped women to marry her so she could torture them for dowry.

She set up a profile on Facebook in 2013 and that is when she started talking to several women to trap them in her web of lies. Sen met a woman belonging to Uttarakhand’s Kathgodam who fell in love with her and eventually married her.

Once married, Krishna started beating the woman who she had married under the garb of a man and demanded lakhs from her as dowry. She took around 8.5 lakh from her wife and used it to set up a factory.

Krishna did not allow both of her wives to touch her body. She used sex toys to maintain a physical relationship with both of them.

Sen then married another woman from Kaladhungi in a similar setting. Interestingly, the second woman came for Sen’s first wedding as well. She rented out a one-room set in Haldwani and lived with both wives there.

However, this setting did not last for too long as the first wife registered a complaint against Sen with the police. The second wife also found out that Sen is not a man, but she silenced her by promising her money.

In her FIR, the first wife accused Sen of demanding dowry and torturing her which is when the police arrested her, Nainital’s senior superintendent of police Janmejay Khanduri told the HT.

As far as the physical relations is concerned, the police told the media that Krishna did not allow both of her wives to touch her body. She used sex toys to maintain a physical relationship with both of them.

There is no dearth of betrayal in the world and if a woman has to disguise into a man to dupe another of money under the pretext of dowry, it is even more shameful.
