Woman Assaulted for leaving in-laws: Harrowing videos of a 19-year-old woman being brutally assaulted by her family members recently surfaced on the internet.
In the videos, where were reportedly shot in a tribal belt of Madhya Pradesh, the woman who had been married three months ago was assaulted by her father and cousins for leaving her in-laws and visiting her family.
The disturbing scenes from the videos included the woman getting dragged by her hair, beaten with sticks while tied to a tree. The incident took place in public where many were seen standing as spectators but nobody appeared to come forward and help the woman. A man was seen beating her with a stick and he only stopped when the stick broke. Another man was heard saying, "Stop crying, Will you ever come back now?"
The video also showed the man tying the woman to a tree and mocking her state. According to reports, the woman belongs to a tribal community and had come to her maternal uncle's house in Alirajpur, Madhya Pradesh. She was dragged out of the house and assaulted in front of the public on June 28. The police have reportedly arrested the woman's father and her cousins after recording her statement.
