Chitra Tripathi Trending On Twitter, Here's Why
1. Atul Agarwal is the editor-in-chief of Hindi Khabar news channel. In a Facebook post, he alleged he had been robbed of Rs 5000 by armed assailants in Bisrakh near Noida Extension on June 19 around 1 AM.
2. Noida police took cognisance of the case through Agarwal's post and began investigation. They said a team of five chief officers probed the case and looked into CCTV and other electronic evidence in the case, but found no incident of loot to have happened.
3. In his post, Agarwal had said he went home by 1:15 AM. However, as per police, he reached an OYO hotel in Sector 121 around 1:07 AM and left the hotel only around 11:45 AM the next day.

After a call from his wife, Aaj Tak anchor Chitra Tripathi, who told him to come home immediately, Agarwal left his friend around 10:45 PM. The friend said Agarwal called her around 1:20 AM saying he was roaming on the streets but mentioned no incident of a robbery.

5. After police said "personal reasons" moved Agarwal to allege a robbery, a section of netizens is claiming the journalist was cheating on his wife. Tripathi hasn't publicly reacted to the controversy.
