Who Is Sonia Singh?

Sonia Singh is an Indian journalist and editorial director of news media agency NDTV. The 51-year-old also serves as the president of the NDTV ethics committee. She did her studies at the Convent of Jesus and Mary in New Delhi. She reportedly topped while pursuing her master's degree in English literature from the famous St. Stephen's College of New Delhi.

She was also granted a three-month scholarship to study the Italian language from the Government of Italy. Sonia Singh is also a recipient of The Chevening Scholarship which is an international scholarship, funded by the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

The scholarship allows the foreign students with leadership qualities to study at universities in the United This particular grant allowed her to pursue journalism from the prestigious Cardiff University of South Wales in the United Kingdom reputed for its research-based studies.

While her stint in the United Kingdom, she also met the reigning Queen Elizabeth. She has been a part of the NDTV news channel since the start of her career in 1992. She has covered much important news coverage for the channel like the Kandahar hijack, Kargil war, Jessica Lall murder case, Parliament Attack in 2011, and the Mumbai terrorist attack of 26/11.

The journalist has received many accolades for her performance throughout her career. Among the recognition achieved by her are the Best Talk Show, Best Anchor Award, and FICCI young achiever. She was also awarded the best Editor in Chief at the EMBA(Employer Brand Management Awards) award in 2015.

She is married to Ratanjit Pratap Narain Singh who was a former member of Congress and has left the party now. On January 25, he addressed a resignation letter to the Congress Party Chief Sonia Gandhi.

Singh also serves as the host of the famous program by NDTV "The NDTV Dialogues" which focuses on the understanding of key issues and potential solutions.
