Who Is Shivon Zilis? Top Executive Welcomed Twins With Elon Musk Last Year

The 51-year-old Tesla CEO and founder Elon Musk had reportedly secretly welcomed twins in 2021 with Shivon Zilis. She is the project director at Neuralink, the company co-founded by Musk.

The 36-year-old Shivon Zilis is a top executive at Neuralink. Business Insider obtained court documents that revealed that Musk and Zilis had twins in November 2021. On April 25, 2022, Musk and Zilis filed a petition to have the names of their twins changed. According to the court document, Musk and Zilis attempted to change the name of their twins to have their father’s last name and their mother’s last name as their middle name.

The revelation that Zilis and Musk have twins means that Musk has nine children with three women. Before the revelation, the public believed that Musk had seven children with two women, Justine Wilson and Grimes. Musk had five children with Wilson, two children with Grimes, and two children with Zilis.

Musk was recently in the news after his transgender daughter requested a name change and cut off ties with her father.

Media reports have stated that Elon Musk became a father of the twins just a few weeks before he fathered another child with Claire Boucher. Boucher also has another child fathered by Elon Musk. Boucher is popularly known as Grimes. Zilis's twins were reportedly kept away from public eye due to unspecified reasons. The news was reported after the court documents were discovered by a certain media company.

Who Is Shivon Zilis?

• Shivon Zilis and Elon Musk met through Zilis’ work with OpenAI, a nonprofit organisation that Musk cofounded in 2015.
• Zilis is from Ontario, Canada and as a college student, she played as a goalie on the college’s women’s ice-hockey team.
• Zilis has a bachelor’s degree from Yale University and the 36-year-old joined the board of directors at OpenAI in 2020.
• She had joined Tesla and in 2017 worked at Tesla as a Project Director.
• She later began working at Neuralink. The company focuses on neurotechnology and develops implantable brain-machine interfaces.
• Zilis is currently the director of operations and special projects at Neuralink. Since she began working at Tesla in 2017, she rose through the ranks and became a top executive.
• Zilis and Musk welcomed twins in November 2021, a month before Musk and Grimes welcomed their second child together, Exa Dark Siderael Musk through a surrogate.
• In April 2022, Musk and Zilis filed a petition to change the twin’s names and the petition was approved by a judge in Texas in May 2022.
