In a video released on Twitter, data scientist Rebekah Jones showed how the Florida police raided her home on Tuesday. According to the police, a warrant had been released against Rebekah Jones motivated by a complaint from the Florida Department of Health. The police officers reportedly took away Jones' phone and computer.

Rebekah Jones used to be employed at the Department of Health, as the head of the Florida Department of Health’s Geographic Information Services division, before she was fired in May because of alleged insubordination. Jones claims that the real reason for her termination was something. She alleges the state health department terminated her because she refused to falsify Covid data. Sun-Sentinel reported that a series of internal emails also show that the data scientist showed resistance when she was told to remove the raw data from the state website. When there is raw data present people can themselves analyse the situation.

According to the police and state officials of Florida, the Department of health's notification system had been hacked and a caution message reached many people. The message said, " It’s time to speak up before another 17,000 people are dead. You know this is wrong. You don’t have to be a part of this. Be a hero. Speak out before it’s too late." When looked into the matter apparently Rebekah Jones' home address in Tallahassee showed up.

Jones completely denies these allegations of hacking, she says she is not a hacker but a data scientist and an analyst. In case she is proved guilty of the charges pressed against her, she can face up to five years of imprisonment. Jones after being raised a whistleblower complaint in July speaking up against the alleged malpractice going on at the Department of Health of Florida. She has also repeatedly targeted Ron DeSantis, the Governor of Florida for fudging numbers and poor handling of the pandemic. Jones says her phone and computer, now seized,  had evidence of this corruption. She also runs her own website now and maintains a Covid dashboard with analysis.
