Aurangzeb is currently in London as a member of the Pakistani delegation for the 77th session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly.

The Minister of Information and Broadcasting was followed out to the streets and Pakistanis shouted ‘chorni, chorni (thief, thief)’ after her. One heckler shouted at Aurangzeb through a megaphone as she continued to nonchalantly sip her drink.

Reportedly, Marriyum Aurangzeb was heckled by supporters of the political party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and former prime minister Imran Khan.

Aurangzeb later took to Twitter to speak about the incident. She described it as the “toxic impact” of former prime minister Khan’s “politics of hate and divisiveness”. She added that she stayed and answered all of the questions the hecklers had.

In some of the videos, Aurangzeb can be seen asking the protestors to have a dialogue with her rather than heckling her. She said, “This attitude is harmful to the image of Pakistan. You asked me three questions and I have answered them all. This is a way of having a decent conversation.”
