VK Sasikala's assets sealed months ahead of her release

VK Sasikala -- the controversial aide of late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa will be out of jail January 2021. Ahead of her walking free, her assets worth 2000 crore rupees have been frozen by the Income Tax department. According to a media report, Sasikala may be released well before Tamil Nadu state elections, due in May 2021.

Reports say assets were attached by the Benami Prohibition wing of the Income Tax Department. Sasikala, Ilavarasi and Sudhakaran are serving a four-year sentence in a disproportionate assets case.
