Vinesh Phogat Wins Maiden Gold At Asian Wrestling Championships: India’s top female wrestler, Phogat picked her maiden gold at Asian Wrestling Championships. Phogat beat her rival Taipei’s Meng Hsuan Hsieh in the final.

Vinesh Phogat is not new to winning. The wrestler, who is headed to the Olympics, had previously clinched three silver and four bronze medals and this is Vinesh’s third gold in three tournaments since her return in March.

27-year old Phogat hails from the family of Phogat sisters who were portrayed in the popular film ‘Dangal’. Like Geeta and Babita, Vinesh Phogat was coached by Mahavir Singh Phogat.
