AIADMK leader Panneerselvam wife passes away : Wife of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK coordinator O Panneerselvam, Vijaylakshmi, passed away after an heart attack on Wednesday. She was 63 years old.

Vijayalakshmi was dealing with ill health for some time now. She was hospitalised in Perugundi, Chennai for the last two weeks because of ailments. However, Vijaylakshmi suffered a cardiac arrest on Wednesday, Sep 01, 2021. AIADMK leader Edappadi K Palaniswami and other AIADMK MLAs visited the hospital to pay their respects to the late Vijayalakshmi. MK Stalin, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu also visited the hospital to pay his condolences to the AIADMK Coordinator. Reports say Vijayalakshmi's body will be taken to her hometown in Tamil Nadu's Theni district for the final rites. The politician's wife is survived by her husband and three children.
Political leaders across parties offered their condolences to Panneerselvam. His supporters took to their Twitter handles to send across their condolence messages.

In May this year, O Panneerselvam lost his younger brother O Balamurugan due to illness. Former Chief Minister Palaniswami, Chief Minister M K Stalin and AIADMK co-coordinator K Palaniswami had conveyed their condolences to the politician on his brother's death.
