Early Life and Passion for Fashion

Valentino was born on 11 May 1932 in Voghera, Italy. From a young age, he loved beautiful clothes and fine fabrics. As a teenager, he went to Paris to study fashion and learn from famous designers. These years helped him develop the skills and style that made him unique.

Living in Paris also introduced him to luxury and high fashion, giving him a clear idea of elegance and style that later became the signature of his own designs.

Valentino’s Iconic Red

In the late 1950s, Valentino opened his own fashion house and quickly became known for his elegant designs, soft silhouettes and attention to detail. 

One of his most famous creations was Valentino Red, a colour that came to symbolise confidence, grace and sophistication.

He made it a point to include at least one red dress in every collection, believing that women wearing red looked powerful, confident and unforgettable.
